The Henkō Acquisitions Correctional Complex is an underground prison, a spike of concrete and steel lodged deep into an abandoned mining planet. The surface is dry, cold, and dark, and high winds power the facility below. Between deliveries of supplies and prisoners, the HACC stands alone, an inverted tower of prison labour built into the remnants of a mine. Layers of exploitation and extraction stretch back through time and space. 
Players take on the roles of inmates, poor souls attempting escape before the prison and its inhabitants destabilize. A tremor has cracked the structure of the subterranean complex, and the player characters awaken at the bottom of a flooding facility. The weak inmates have regained consciousness after doses of a pink fluid—Stabilizer—by the single surviving guard on their detail. The inmates under a heap of nearby rubble weren’t so lucky, and it looks like the corpses are starting to convulse… 
Emergence is a 32-page module compatible with the Mothership sci-fi horror RPG. Each player controls four inmates, twisting the classic Mothership experience into a funnel adventure. Player characters that escape to the surface have an origin story told right at the table. A class-less character type includes random tables to generate what sent the inmate to the prison, starting gear, and skill. To keep the action moving, each character has a new attribute, Cohesion, with plenty of opportunities to see what happens when it reaches zero.
Explore the ruins of the HACC, with tables to generate the encounters between major locations, intact portions of the four prison cell blocks, and items & equipment to find. With sixteen major locations, six factions, and a brand new threat that twists into environmental dangers even after death, Emergence is packed with tools for every Warden to ratchet tension up and down.
