From the Kickstarter: "Ten years ago, The Wicked + The Divine started its epic 51-issue run. We always wanted to treat our cast like superstars, and for the cover of every issue Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson strove to present them as icons.
But it wasn't enough. We recruited artists we loved to join us, and every one of their covers showed the cast through their own subjective, brilliant lens. Our hope was that if people wanted to know what was best in comics from 2014-2019, they could just flick through our alt covers. That was the goal. I think we succeeded.
All 137 covers in a super-sized hardback format (240mm x 320mm or 9.44" x 12.59") also including extra material, such as Kieron writing an introduction to the book and Jamie explaining his thinking behind each arc of the covers. Also included are making-of features, where Jamie demonstrates how he goes from concept to sketch to inks to the finished work. It will also include a bonus cover by Jamie McKelvie to truly make it a COMPLETE collection: Sahkmet will finally get her head cover.
THE COVERS VERSION is the ultimate art collection of the book that Chip Zdarsky left out of his list of favourite comics in Men's Health.
